One of the hardest things to do on a small canvas like an emoticon is animate disparate elements so they look natural instead of set to a metronomic rhythm. ~parliamentFunk has accomplished this immensely difficult feat perfectly in this piece. the.diver.v2 is also gorgeously drawn and shaded down to the smallest detail, from Jaws to seabed to lone surviving flipper. Funnything... I started with a totally different idea and it just became that. I had this flash back to a scene in "Finding Nemo," where the whale starts as a tiny shadow in the background and slowly approaches behind the two main characters. After that, I never turned back.
